Wakey Wakey

I wish I had the ability to drop back off to sleep when hubbie's 6.30 alarm goes off.

My eyes ping open I do close them and lie there kidding myself I will return to the land of dreams.

Today's task will be finish a couple of cushions

Then hopefully start the homemade Christmas gifts.

This years consist of aprons, book covers, cushions, doll and a knitted pig.

In a previous post I mentioned Ashley's lasting friendship with Gayle who she met at school

and that the second generation continue the theme

She sent me these yesterday. I can clearly remember the girls picture being taken

They would be 15 in 1996

Our girls are on the left

Eye Eye

I have acquired a passion for vintage boho colours

I have also fell in love with Butterfly Home by Mathew Williamson

and also like At Home with Ashley Thomas

They both design for Debenhams who just happen to have a sale on

Just love our new bedding

Another first for me I had my eyebrows waxed and tinted also had

my eyelashes tinted too.

The waxing part was much easier than struggling with tweezers and a magnifying
mirror. Will certainly be doing that again

Aye, Naw or A Dinnae Ken

Today I like many others will put a cross in a box.

Regardless of the result, our beautiful country will never be the same

I love Scotland. Why?

Simple : These are some of the views that surround us

Our village is just to the right of the bridge

How lucky are we

P.S. So looking forward to normal radio and tv resuming

I am trying to decide what to do with these

They are the same design just different colour ways

Love them

Today saw a quick visit to Homebase to pick up mini roller heads

and I spied this lampshade it's a lovely moss green add a bit of flower detail

and they were sold. What was even better I bought 2 and

(Before photo)

The total cost £7.50 for both. I love a bargin mind you I would have purchased them

at their top price too *love*

Cute Cushion

Finished a cushion incorporating red work embroidery

and patchwork. I used just about the last of the 'Dorothy' Liberty material

I got for Christmas last year. Too cute.

Also made a book cover as a pressie

Will quietly say I need to start thinking about the 'C' word

promised myself I would try make handmade gifts for people this year

Slowly does it

Hard to believe it is 3 years since we bought our cottage.

We set out with a list

1. Large enough to accommodate myself hubbie plus a returning 31 year old daughter

2. A newer type property no renovation required

3. Garage

4. Flat south facing rear garden

5. Detached

What did we end up with

A terraced cottage that was built in the late 1800's, looks like a But 'n Ben but had been extended at the back

and into the roof. Has no garage. North easterly sloping garden. In serious need

of upgrading. What do you do when your heart says buy and head says run a mile.

I always go with my heart and the fact that the cottage was still sitting on the market waiting

for us 6 months after our original viewing.

The bathroom

Stripped out having been treated for damp
As it is now
Bedrooms before and after

Our bedroom for some strange reason don't have a before photo
From what was the kitchen we formed a study and utility room
The strange shaped hall leading to the original kitchen
was altered to incorporate a shower room and square hall

There were two living rooms.
We use this one

My wee room

The biggest transformation

From 70s living/dining room

The only problem now having an older property is like owning the Forth Bridges

The house could be doing with a lick of paint........

Oh and new front windows more in keeping with the age of the property
