Trending Colours

Last year wasn't the best for me health wise and I am still in recovery mode. I had sepsis and as a result I will have to wear compression stockings for the foreseeable future if not for the rest of my life. Now they are not the prettiest things and I had visions of wearing the usual NHS black and natural coloured affair even in the summer. An Internet search has found these They also have purple and pink ones. I have sent for a purple pair to join the usual black ones I am provided with. If they are ok green will be the next purchase.

7 Things

One of our girls mentioned that on one of the social media sites you are nominated to tell 7 things that people may not know about you

It got me thinking

1. I said yes to hubbie when he asked me to marry him halfway through our second date.

2. I love tomatoes especially baked with lots of pepper but hate tomato soup, sauce and crisps.

3. I can't swim and have a fear of drowning however I love looking out onto water whether it be a loch, river or ocean.

4. I have to wash my hair everyday.

5. I would love a tattoo.

6. I like classical music and Christmas carols

7. I don't wear expensive perfume

Re arranging

Since hubbie is now a permanent member of staff at Edinburgh College he has a desk all to himself there and really doesn't use the study nearly as much as he used to. So a bit of juggling of rooms is now taking place. I am moving my crafting stuff downstairs into the study and room that I used upstairs will become study / guest room. Anyway how to kit the room out ? A trip to the local furniture recycling shop found this

It is being delivered on Tuesday, tomorrow night we will pick up a wardrobe and bedside cabinet that was advertised on Gumtree and the re-vamp will begin. I now just have to decide on another colour of paint for a wee change rather than Farrow & Balls Elephants Breath which is my fav.

Aren't these lovely ? I got them in Debenhams Sale today love the bird design inside

I had decided to buy 4 but when I got to the checkout and the lady said they were now reduced to £2.40 I bought another 4 and 2 small cereal bowls in a different shade. Just too pretty....

Alternatives

My first crafting adventure was when I was about 7 and my wee grannie taught me to knit. She was a beautiful knitter and always had something on the go. A lot of her patterns came from the 'Peoples Friend' magazine. The saddest thing being in her latter years she steadily lost her sight and was eventually registered blind. The last thing she worked on on was a lacy lilac coloured twinset. The cardigan was completed but she never finished the jumper. A few years later I finished it off for her.

I enjoy knitting and knitted all the hand knits for our grandchildren including pram blankets. I have never found it therapeutic and end up with real tension in my shoulders. Hubbie got me these for christmas.

Who knew knitting looms could be fun and I am learning a new way of knitting and no painful shoulders.

Our girlie asked for a hat with a big floppy pom-pom

Result !!!!!! and it was completed in an evening

Woo hoo I love it.
