Before

Have been searching for a unit to take the tv, video etc

As I am not too keen on the modern units that are around end up

once again at the local furniture recycling unit

I spied this at the same time as hubbie

We both liked it but returned home empty handed not sure if it would do

Half an hour later we headed back to purchase it sure we could

make it work. Not sure how long it will take to strip and paint as

it's a bit busy here at the moment and the weekend sees us at a

wedding Shelley and Joe are staying here the night of the wedding then

early celebrations on Sunday as it's Shelleys birthday on the 4th but she and Joe

will be in London visiting Joe's sister and family.

Hence the before photo not sure when the after will appear

More Recycing

Here we go again yet another bit of recycling/ upcycling

During Colin's summer break he plastered the walls and put a new ceiling up

in what will be my sewing / craft room.

It has a small daybed that will get a multi coloured crochet blanket on it

when I eventually get around to sewing 100 crochet squares together

Anyway being on a mission to spend as little as possible I was on

the hunt for a desk that could be upcycled and hey presto

the local furniture recycling company had exactly what I was looking for

Painted it in my fav Farrow & Ball

A wax of the top and 4 handles

I think it's turned out great the Welsh Dresser that started me on the recycling

route has been move to the opposite wall had a tidy and new bunting

Costs: Desk £25. Handles £1.35 each. Paint & Wax I already had

He had a small get-together for 8 friends at

the local Kidsworld. The theme being super heroes.

His cake was made by a friend of Mummy

Only the bottom was cake the top layers being made of cardboard

covered in icing.

There was a face painter there too

Which the kids loved

Shows how the boy has changed
At a year old he loved Tigger now there is nothing like a Superhero

Savings & Simpsons

The girlie like her mama loves The Simpson

Ashley has a few collectible pieces from her younger days

Another love of the girlie is Lego

She had her eye on The Simpsons Lego House

As it costs quite a few pennies she was trying to save up for it

she reckoned she might with pocket money, birthday money and the 20% off

that Smyths usually has in October she might just manage to purchase it then.

Everyone in the family where possible gave her pennies for her birthday

ourselves included and with a little extra bit of help from Mum & Dad

RESULT!!!!!!!!!

One delighted girl
