Goodies & Baddies

Halloween is nearly upon us

The girlie and boy had a party at a neighbours after school today

which was a great success. Mum text to say they had a blast.

The girlies school party is this evening.

The boys nursery one is tomorrow.

I had a request for a Poison Ivy costume

Felt ivy shapes sewn on a leotard,

cape made from lining, red spray in her hair and we were sorted

Found bright green pumps at a bargin price on the famous auction site

The boy wanted to be Wolverine which was a simple shop purchase.

Not the best photos need to invest in a new phone with better camera

Cutie footie wear

Couldn't resist this outfit from Debenhams

It's by John Rocha

My favourite part

These too cute wee shoes

Becoming a Free Spirt

Good few months ago while browsing the Internet I came across

Comfort & Joy by Dena Designs for Free spirt

I loved it and some kind person gave me a selection of fat quarters for my birthday

Now going totally against my nature (wee bit of control freak) I decided to just chop the fabric

with no real plan apart from knowing I wanted it to be random.

I sewed the pieces together just as they came into my hand with no rhyme or reason.

I am happy with how it looks...... Yes......almost

There are a few tweaks I would make but I will leave it be

And be true to my first thoughts

I am learning to become a free spirt slowly but surely

Onesies and moving on

It was a pj or onesie day at the girlies school and the boys nursery class.

There was great excitement this morning preparing to head there

It was a moving day for their mum. She has worked in Education Dept at local

council for the past couple of years.

She has be fortunate enough to be offered a job at a local primary school.

She arrived at work this morning to this.

I know it was not easy for her to decide to move on due to very special friendships that have been forged.

I along with her family and friends know this is the best decision for her and her family.

Her dad and I wish her every success in her new venture and send her much love.

Her own style

Another year passes and hard to believe the girlie has started P5

She has her own style ( been reminded by a certain gentleman just like her gran)

This year it is skater style pinafores, ruffle front polo shirts, swing cardigans and black socks.

Can always make me smile

Unexpected Journey

We wakened at our usual weekday time

(it would be great to have a bit extra shut eye at the weekend but the body clock doesn't think so)

We headed on an unexpected journey to Aberfeldy we travelled up through Crieff the scenery was stunning and covered in beautiful coloured heather it was breath taking. When in Aberfeldy we spent an enjoyable hour or so at The Watermill an independent bookstore and I treated myself to a pocket size copy of The Hobbit. I am ashamed to say I haven't read it. Now I can't put it down.

On our way home we popped into Country Affair and I found this little beauty.

It just happened to be in my favourite green colour and just what was needed to finish off the bedroom.

Well pleased with the result £7 well spent

Birthday Delight

As we get older birthdays don't seem to matter as much

The boy and girlie could hardly contain themselves with excitement it is their grandads birthday today.

I helped them decorate their house lay out pressies and birthday cake then we went to collect the birthday boy. The photos sum up the delight and happiness of the day.

Singing Happy Birthday with gusto!!!!

Their mummy also posted the following this morning

AHappy Birthday to my fab dad, 53 today! The man who fixes our leaky shower for free. Races down and plasters our ceiling when it was falling in and puts out a fire in my kitchen then cleans my cooker all out for me after I tried to cook sausages, gives sneaky treat cash when not quite payday and entertains Aimee and Murray with endless games. Mucho love xxxx

Busy times

The girlie trying out her old toddler bike

She also had a great week last week doing a life saving course
at the local leisure centre she managed Bronze level 3
Quite an achievement from a girl that really doesn't like getting water in her eyes

Yesterday her and the little chap spent the day at Edinburgh zoo with Auntie Shelley and Uncle Joe
The boy loves monkeys (enough said)

The star attraction

Having a bit of a chill out
