Finally Finished

The embroidered bird table runner is finally finished

I am really pleased with how it has turned out

What now though?

For the first time ever I don't have my next project planned

I am really enjoying embroidery at the moment the only problem a lot of it is not quite my style

China and lace

Our neighbours Ricardo and Emma get married in 3 weeks

They are a young couple who have filled their home with vintage finds

Wanted to give a wee suitable gift

I found the candle tea cup sets on the well known auction site

Put them together with vintage napkins I had squirrelled away for pressies as and when needed

I did buy three so one is now sitting looking so cute on my sewing box table

No real surprise there, they are green

Flower of Scotland

Scotland got the wooden spoon

But our roar can still make aliens wear earplugs

Our girl was at the match and requested a headband

I was happy to oblige

Retrieved

Bought this fabric at the same time as fabric for the chair in the previous post

I totally love it

Now the photo is rubbish as its looking right out to daylight from the utility room but you get the outline ok
It's my fav easy blind and it will do the job of saving me looking out to darkness we are fortunate not to be overlooked but it's nice not seeing a reflection every time you pass when it's dark.
Now last night there were tears

I eventually finished the embroidery part of the table runner at the weekend. Washed it on Monday and was looking forward to chopping up the material for the patchwork part. Went to retrieve the embroidery to iron it. Couldn't find it....... Searched everywhere.... Walby joined me as we looked in every drawer and cupboard even checked inside the fridge!!!!! Off I went to my wee room and my eyes were starting to leak water. I was so upset couldn't think what I had done with it. At the suggestion of Walby I relived my day.... shower, dressed, post office, coffee at Margaret's admiring her garden, Morrisons, tidy around then off to pick kids up...... Ah the tidy part also involved multi tasking as we women do laying ironing away and putting rubbish in bin ready for pick up today. A dash out to the bin and there it was. How lucky was that. So it is now in my wee room re-washed Ironed and all ready to be put together.

Spongebob Rocks

The boy had a trial with the same music teacher that the girlie does her drums with

He got on great listened well and paid attention to everything that Paul said

At the end of the lesson he thought the wee guy had done really well but was concerned about his arm reach and the size of his hands. He suggested going back in a few months but in the meantime consider getting him a guitar he could use just to get used to.

We got him this

He loves it

Baskets, curtains & carnations

Now I have always been quite a determined character can't say it's an asset it got me into a few scrapes along the way but also got out of a few too. When we were designing the kitchen nearly 4 years ago now I had the vision of open shelves above the sink area. Every kitchen company we spoke to thought I was mad they all thought the more cupboards the better. I gave in and this was the result.

As time has went by I have always thought should have done what I wanted.

Thinking logically I decided to try adapt the units that are already in place rather than

facing re plastering the wall.

Off to IKEA purchase a few baskets and this is the result.

On a previous visit I clocked a super duper rug for the sitting area it just reminded me of patchwork
Since then I have been searching for curtain material with no luck then spied this at Ikea
It works brilliantly with the rug

This girl is one of the best things in my life

Homework this week was to design a poster, flag etc on the digestive system

She used one of her dads t-shirts

Isn't it brill

She visited yesterday for tea with her brother

She had been in town in the morning and bought me the red carnations off of her pocket money

I held it together but get a bit happy teary when I look at them.

I couldn't love her anymore

Spring ...........

March has arrived with the promise of the start of Spring
Nae chance
This is what greeted us this morning
Look at how cute my Christmas Roses are all covered in the white stuff

On a wee personal note it's a bit of a red letter day.

I have officially been released from the routine of GP's check ups,

just to visit as and when I need to.

It's been a long year but woo hoo I've made it.
