Memories

We are fast approaching the end of another year

Had our grandchildren for a sleepover last night

In the middle of one of our chill out conversations

The girlie called me her 'love me gran'

One melted heart

Having a look through old emails I came across the following photos of things that our youngest daughter (32yrs) sent me that remined her of growing up

Relaxing

Boxing Day in 'The Paterson' household is a relaxing one after the festivities

of Christmas Eve and Day

We have had a lovely chilled out day

This year as a family we adults decided giving would be restricted to a Secret Santa gift

It worked out really well and I am well pleased

Above is the mixture of Secret Santa and Colin's gifts to me

The boy did so well the Liberty fabric is called 'Dorothy' how awesome is that

The Star Trek Generations DVD movie collection is already getting an airing

Looking forward to colouring in the paisley patterns in my colouring book

Coloured pencils at the ready

One More Sleep

Christmas Eve is traditionally spent in the company of our DD2

son-in-law and our precious grandchildren.

We have a meal which is followed by the yearly visit in the village by the man in the red suit.

The Christmas table this year got a last minute change Lesley next door handed in this lovely floral arrangement which took me off in a natural theme.

A hunt in the linen cupboard found the runner, already had the table mats and napkins candle holders belonged to my beloved wee gran........ All sorted and love it.

We live down the road from the local church and for the first time since arriving in the village

we are heading to the Watchnight Service.

One more sleep woo hoo

Neighbourly Love

As I have mentioned in the past when we moved to the village 2 years ago we were really unsure how we would settle after spending most of our married life in the same town that I was brought up in.

We couldn't be happier or more settled in this friendly and caring place. Our immediate neighbours are Lesley and her daughter Abby they are lovely, we all just 'clicked'.

As a Thank You to them for letting us park our bins at the side of their house I made Abby a cushion from Michael Miller ' pixies' and Lesley a lap quilt to keep cosy as winter truly starts to arrive here.

The photos are rubbish as it is so dark and horrible here photos were taken in artifical light.

The nice thing about the winter weather

The coal fire

Blink of an eye

We as a family are slightly vertically challenged

Not quite Hobbit material but hubbie does find it hard to find me in some shops as I seem to

disappear below shelf level.

Not so the girlie she is stretching way beyond the other ladies in the family.

Last week the school singing group had their Carol Concert.

Apart from taking park in the singing she also joined with two pupils from the other local school that will join in the integration of the two schools next year.

We thought when she started playing the violin it would be a two minute wonder but not our girlie. She loves it, reads music and also has a real knack with the drums.......... (as did her mum)

This year sees her in P5 and she is loving her teacher who seems to be working wonders with her confidence.

So to Mrs Paterson thank you

It doesn't seem any time at all she was in P1 and she was slowly finding her feet

with the help of Miss Doig.

Regarding The Hobbit went to see the new film it was good but I preferred first one.

Hubbie found it a bit slow at the beginning so much so it was dark and he was cosy he fell asleep!!!!!
