Progressing nicely

It has been a busy week for the grandchildren.

The girlie has had dress rehearsals for her cheerleading shows which are this week.

Also rehearsing for a planned retirement assembly for the school headmaster

who will be sorely missed. The girlie will be playing the violin.

The boy had his nursery school trip to Nohahs Ark in Perth (Soft play) which he loved.

The biggest thing was the school reports.

The follow was written by the headmaster about the girlie.

Aimee is a lovely, well behaved, hard working, but quiet pupil, who has made very good progress this session and achieved a very good report. Very well done, Aimee and keep up the good work next session.

Her reading ability and creative writing leave me in awe she isn't 9 yet.

Her reward was being able to wear her red hair clip extension to school.

The boys was brilliant considering he was still teary going to nursery

in January and he started last August.

The following excerpt made me kinda proud. He isn't 4 until August

Murray has a strong understanding of what is fair and unfair behaviour and is happy.

His kind and empathic temperament has made him popular with

the other boys and girls in nursery.

This is him all ready for his nursery trip.

A small P.S.

Looking at the photo of the boy is just like looking at his mum at that age.

Daddy's Day

Colin's Fathers Day has been lovely so far.

I should say it has ended up being a weekend full of fun.

He finished work at college on Friday and went out for lunch with some of his fellow lecturers.

The only blip on that front is the part- time and temp lecturers ( of which there are a lot ) have not been

told if they will be returning after the summer break.

Our oldest girlie and hubbie came on Friday we had a very pleasant evening.

They gave Colin a trip on the Forth that involves travelling under the fabulous Forth Bridges.

Saturday afternoon and early evening were spent with our younger girlie , hubbie and

of course the grandchildren.

Hide and seek, memory card game, pick-up sticks, art and crafts were enjoyed by everyone.

Today started quietly sitting under clear blue sky and lovely sunshine.

We even managed to sit outside for breakfast.

Popped in to see my dad then it was off to collect a new DVD player ours gave up a week or so

ago and we love our DVDs.

A wee pressie from me were choc macaroons one of my boys favourite.

It has so dulled over not a bit of sun to be seen

Late afternoon new DVD is in place The Hobbit playing and I am hand sewing

Happy Day

Hope your dads all have nice day

Doon the water

Our oldest girlie came through to spend the afternoon and early evening with us. She also squeezed a visit to her sister, niece and nephew also her Grandad.

The main reason for the visit me thinks was so her dad could fit a new radio into her car. We had a great catch-up and off she went home in the Glasgow direction. This is the view that greeted her when she got home to the area affectionately called Doon the Water by the people of Glasgow.

Not too bad at all

Pretty Pinnie

Needed a new pinnie had a look online and couldn't find anything I liked then

Remembered this lovely fabric by Rowan that I had bought in John Lewis ages ago.

Used an old pinnie as a template and added a bit of length (I love long skirts and find a

lot of the pinnies don't cover enough of the skirt)

A nice pleated pocket and some homemade bias binding and hey presto a pretty pinnie

No surprise it's green
