Bit of a busy & bling week

I don't usually do serious bling things but totally fell for this light fitting from BHS's Vintage range
The metal parts are dark grey a wee bit of a change from chrome
Damp proofing laid

Flooring laid
A bit of faffing today.... Not quite finished. Can't quite decide what colour to paint the fireplace. Also waiting on the marble hearth being delivered. New curtains will be made this week too.

Poor hubbies knees (ouch) this was the first of two floors laid. He did our bedroom too. Will share pictures later as I've still to decide on curtains. We have a serious lack of curtains as our previous house had velux windows in the bedrooms. This week will be fitting floor in the spare bedroom and a bit of faffing to make it pretty.

Post Box Wall

The girlie is growing up so quickly. Aged 11 she is taller than her mum, gran and auntie.
Re-vamped bedroom. The girlie asked if she could have a bigger bed.
So around 9 hours divided over 2 days look at what gran & grandad did.
Tv on the wall, no cabin bed, no more turquoise walls, emoji bedding oh and a red wall.
All things that we know she would love but there was no way she would ask for.
The delight on her face when she first saw the room was being painted was fab.
The delight at the finished result was captured in photo.

The thank you cuddle was priceless

Turned out nice again.....

Now that sentence is usually associated with fine weather

Nae chance here. I can't remember the last time it has rained so much.

It is also far too mild I swear our grass is growing.

I long for crisp clear mornings with the first snowdrops popping through

Anyway I digress

Remember these

Couple of coats of Annie Sloan paint and waxed
A result I am so pleased with

Frank

It's been very windy and the rain hasn't really halted for 24 hours

In Kincardne we've escaped relatively unscathed

Not so where our oldest daughter lives

The town centre

The bottom of the road where she lives

Time Consuming..... But

I will enjoy every minute of this project

It may take a while

There are 9 embroideries in the Simply Blessed range

They are then joined together using patchwork

I intend to do that but in a more suitable pattern to my personality using Lynette Anderson fabric

I am on embroidery number 3 using Cottage Garden thread which is hand dyed and variegated

Chris the lovely lady from Braidcrafts in New South Wales Australia helped source enough thread from the same dye lot so the embroideries would have same thread throughout. Her kindness shows no bounds.

Relax and sew girl! Relax and sew!

Remodel

Aimee has outgrown her desk and stool

Murray could be doing with one

He loves Minecraft so grandad thought a remodel was in order

It was the pretty purple colour that is visible on the lower part of the stool in the first picture

A bit of Shrek green paint. RESULT

He is delighted with it

Pressie and re-invention

Hard to believe it's that time of year again

Christmas make for my dearest friend

A embroidery pattern by Pearl Louise Krush and the fabric is

Under the Mistletoe by Anni Downs of Hatched & Patched

Perfect colours to match the blue range cooker

A few years ago I made is garland
The Twelve Days of Christmas by Mandy Shaw
I only ever used it once as it was made for a different house

Two of my favourite things are A Christmas Carol and The Twelve Days of Christmas

A bit of a re-think and using fabric I received two Christmases ago from DD1

The re-invention is complete
Love it
